Not even a little bit! Documentary photography sessions will be scheduled, have a set length of time and be a bit more simple. For birth photography, I only take 1-3 clients a month to ensure availability. I will be on call for you for 4-5 weeks 24/7 and be at your birth from active labor until up to 2 hours after delivery, however long that takes.

It really depends. I will discuss price with each client individually depending on which services they would like! I offer several types of payment plans internally and externally through microloan services. I usually have flexible payment schedules as well depending on circumstances.

It is not uncommon for the partner to not have the same perspective as you when it comes to the birth experience. And that is totally ok and understandable. They don’t realize how fleeting the experience will feel after the fact and how important documenting it is. I am more than happy to grab coffee with or have a Zoom call with your partner to chat about the importance and impact of professional photography at birth and explain the cost. I also have many clients whose partners have reached out to me after birth to tell me how valuable having their photos is. I’m happy to share their testimonials as well.

Miranda, thank you so much!! I really appreciate what you did for us, the fact that you were able to capture our moments and essence was priceless. You were able to capture our love, happiness and mess forever, for us not to forget how our family's real moments were and not just pose in front of a camera and make it look perfect when in reality it is not like that. It made me cry the fact of knowing that in our future we will be able to show our kids these pictures and tell them all of our crazy memories in the mornings and they will be able to see the good and bad but most importantly the love and joy. I am beyond happy with the photos I received for my birth from working with Miranda. She did such an excellent job capturing my homebirth experience and the finished photos she sent made me truly feel so beautiful during such a transformitive experience. I am so grateful to have these photos to look back on. She was incredibly professional during the whole experience, she stayed in the background and I could hardly tell she was there. She came to my home in the early morning and even though my labor stalled until late that night she stayed the whole time. She even stayed a while after the birth to get some amazing photos for me. I really couldn't have asked for anything more. This is one thing definitely worth it that I will want to invest in for subsequent births with Miranda I highly recommend her services.

Miranda took photos at my company’s annual holiday party, which I host every year in my home. I honestly forgot she was even there because she was so discreet! But then when she sent me the photos, I was blown away! She not only provided me with exactly what I had asked for, which was to capture all the fun we were having, but she somehow managed to capture unexpected things, such as tender moments between co-workers, and beautiful quiet moments that no one else seemed to notice. Her photos are stunning. She seems to know exactly where to place herself to get the best angle. And although the lighting at the party was not ideal for photographs (twinkle lights and fireplace, and the rest of the lights were dimmed), she somehow got crisp, detailed photos. These parties are special to me and I love them, but I'm always too busy hosting to also take photos. I’m so thrilled to have these wonderful photos for myself, and my co-workers were ecstatic to receive them as a surprise gift during the holidays!

My experience with Miranda was nothing short of phenomenal! She is well-organized, professional, communicative, authentic, and thoughtful! We met in person before the birth and I felt instant synergy! As a birthworker, this is important for anyone who will be in the sacred birthing space. What I love is Miranda’s spirit, and her incredible ability to document those key, precious moments without you even realizing she’s there! And when you do feel her presence, she’s calming, supportive, and even helpful! She blended in so beautifully and intentionally with the energy of the space, as it shifted and changed — she’s a cameleon, which is also necessary with something so ever-changing and sacred as labor/birth.
